Weird Things Happen When You Age

One of the joys of getting older is having weird things happen to your body. I mean, hair goes gray, spots show up on you skin, and things sag that were once supple and full of life.

Though I’ve had the pleasure of looking like I’m not aging as fast as my peers, I’ve had some weird things happen to my body. Most recently, I had the pleasure of having a cyst develop near my tear duct, right in the corner of my eye.

About 6 months ago, I noticed a small bump by my eye. As time went on it got larger. It would occasionally itch. There didn’t seem anything wrong with it. It didn’t hinder my eyesight. If my allergies were bothering me, my eyes would water and I would bump it. It also itched here and there so I was constantly touching my eyelid, I was at one point, afraid I would make it worse.

In January, after talking with my primary care doctor, I was set up with an appointment with an ophthalmologist. I needed my eyes checked anyway, so the fact that I really needed the cyst checked out was a bonus. Sure enough, my eyes needed stronger glasses, and the ophthalmologist felt I needed to see a surgeon. He agreed that though the cyst posed no threat…
